Description:

The Machupicchu by Train Tour takes you on one of the most incredible train journeys in the world to reach a magnificent site – Machu Picchu!! The route zigzags up to the highest point of the railway (3668m/12033ft) and continues through typical Andean regions down to the tropical area of Machu Picchu located at 2400m/7873ft above sea level.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu Town)

We will pick you up in the morning or “at at the agreed time” and lead you by bus to the train station, the train leaves from Ollantaytambo and takes 2 hours of majestic views, you will arrive at Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural hot springs.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco

After breakfast you will take the bus up to Machu Picchu, You can catch any of them, they are leaving every 10 minutes and takes half an hour to get the ruins, upon arrival you will meet the tour guide who will explain Machupicchu history for 2 hours and a half approximately then you will be by yourself exploring more about Machupicchu.

Aditional activities to do:

Huaynapicchu Mountain: You can climb Huayna Picchu (the mountain behind Machu Picchu), It takes 45 minutes to reach the top and the view from the top over Machu Picchu is worthy (There is a limit of 400 people per day and you need to make the reservation with 4 months in advance if you want to climb it). Machupicchu Mountain: There is another mountain to climb (Machupicchu Mountain), it takes 1 and a half hour to reach the top, you also will have a nice view about Machupicchu and all the valleys around (the limit is 400 spots per day but available all year). After the visit of Machupicchu archaeological park you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes in order to catch the train to Ollantaytambo then finally the bus back to Cusco.
