WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE TICKET SALE PLATFORM FOR MACHU PICCHU
WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE TICKET SALE PLATFORM FOR MACHU PICCHU, I CAN NOT BOOK MY TICKETS TO MACHU PICCHU, NEW SITE TO BOOK THE TICKETS TO MACHU PICCHU
Machu Picchu, being considered the main tourist attraction in Peru, has thousands of travelers interested in visiting it. Currently it is suffering some riots by the government regarding the sale of entrance tickets to the Inca citadel, as well as from everyone involved in the tourism business.
Previously, there was the government platform www.machupicchu.gob.pe, through which everyone could book their entry tickets to Machu Picchu effectively and safely for the date and time according to availability and personal preference, this platform was clearly managed by the Peruvian state through the Ministry of Culture, payments for ticket reservations could be made virtually or in person.
Unfortunately, the Peruvian state involves a private organization called JOINNUS, an entity that regularly works in Peru as a platform for selling tickets for public events, such as presentations of music groups, sporting events, dance shows and more.
This entity was involved in the Peruvian cultural field and currently in charge of managing the sale of entrance tickets to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, obtaining a percentage benefit for each of the sales. Faced with this, many people involved in the Peruvian tourism sector feel dissatisfied with the management that JOINNUS carries out with the sale of tickets to Machu Picchu, indicating that the current platform is not fully adapted to the user in general and also it presents problems when navigating the site or even more when purchasing tickets.
As a voice of protest, all those involved and affected by this new change, decided to carry out a mobilization and strikes against the Minister of Culture in Peru, as well as against JOINNUS. This mobilization takes place indefinitely both in the City of Cusco and in the District of Machu Picchu Pueblo “Aguas Calientes”, this implies the blockade and inaccessibility to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
