The Tambopata Reserve is an interesting place to see the wild life of the amazon jungle in Peru, this tour includes the visit of some authentic villages enjoying and knowing their tradition and culture plus the view of some exotic animals proper of the amazon, the nature also makes you happy and free of civilizacion.
On arrival of your flight to Puerto Maldonado, our guide or staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the centre of the town where you can experience the exotic local market depending on the arrival time of the flights we may have the first lunch here or while travelling to the lodge or in the lodge. Your excess luggage will be stored safely in our office in Puerto Maldonado and then we will continue on to the port. We take our private bus along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 1 hour to Tambo Jungle Lodge. A cool welcome drink awaits then you will be led to your bungalows to settle in.
In the afternoon, we will take a 30 minutes boat journey to Monkey Island where we will appreciate a great diversity of monkeys such as the spider, capuchin, tamarines and squirrel monkey as well as mammals like racoons, capybaras and a rich variety of birds.
Afterall we will return to Tambo Jungle Lodge for a traditional dinner, you may have in mind that nocturnal activities are available each night, these range nocturnal walks, talks on different topics and caiman spotting when they are optimal.
After a great jungle breakfast, we board the boat again and sail the Madre de Dios River toward the Sandoval gate, a 1 hour and 30 minutes hike to the famous Sandoval Lake will be the next adventure, passing through the virgin forest, incredible flora and fauna including giant otters, birds, alligators, turtles and varieties of fish is what we will be able to enjoy. We will spend the enough time in the canoe enjoying the views and wildlife of the most spectacular lake in the region.
One of the most awe-inspiring features of the jungle is the enormity of the trees and you will have the experience of standing at the base of the huge kapok tree. We will also take a short visit to the traditional farming areas to see their production.
